Almujadalah 11, Alloh The Almighty said: "Ya ayyuhal ladzi na amanu tafassahu fil majalisi faf sahu yafsahillahu lakum..-al ayah" "O ye who believe! When ye are told to make room in the assemblies, (spread out and) make room: (ample) room will Allah provide for you."
When first time I heard this Ayat, -I was at Junior High School (SMP)- I wonder, why did Alloh say that? When we are in assemblies, he order to make a room for other people. Is that so important? In my thinking it was a small thing, making room (spread out) for others is not so difficult to do. That was my thinking. Until I saw the fact that it's so difficult to do. Whenever I go to Jumatan praying, I saw many people in queue standing up and have no place to sit down. Meanwhile the others are sitting well with their pray-mats. I saw there are still wide room to sit because their pray-mats are too big. It's about my attention to detail, common Indonesian people is small and slim and many pray-mats have big size. If you refer to the correct manual of sholat berjamaah, you must be close and touch by each other. And if you follow your pray-mat size which has big size, your foot steps will be so far from each other. So actually your big pray-mat -if you re small man- prevent you to make a perfect line in sholat berjamaah. Your line is sprawl, not tight, because of your pray-mat. Don't you realize that?
How come, you can peacefully sit down listening to the Khotib and let your brothers have no place to come inside the mosque? I can't... I can't listen peacefully if I see other jamaah are still standing up outside and look worries if they will have place to pray or not..
It's often happened. Even always happened in my area now. In Bali, all the mosque are full for Jumatan praying. It's a great-full thing, but I feel sad about this detail.
Look, Alloh has mentioned that 'small thing' in Alquran. Please make a room, if your pray-mats prevent you to make a room for others, just cut your pray-mats! Hopefully you'll realize that small area in the edge of your big pray-mat is very important for others!
